Nightcliff Swimming Club
Training Times + Expectations

Training squads are formed in line with Swimming Australia’s “Multi-Year Age Group Swimmer Development Model”.

This means that squads are selected on the following criteria:

  • Satisfactory development of skills and technique

  • The ability to cope with the volume and intensity of work, and

  • Preparation and desire to work in the program.

Nightcliff Swimming Club has a minimum standard for joining each squad.

New swimmers who need to be assessed for squads please email the club for an appointment.

Club Culture

We are growing! With nearly 200 members, it is critical to ensure that the behaviour of our children and our parents is respectful to all fellow swimmers, coaches, committee members, and officials. Our training sessions should be focused, competitive, and fun, no matter the squad your child is in.

Please take note that:

  • All children aged 10 and under must be supervised by a parent, or a trusted guardian, at all trainings and competitions. Our coaches are focused on the swimmers in the pool and their lessons and cannot provide childcare if the swimmer needs to get out of the pool.

  • Due to the fitness equipment inside the clubhouse, no swimmer should be unsupervised inside the clubroom, except for collecting their swim kit

  • All swimmers and parents are to treat others with the same respect and kindness you would like to receive

Holiday Training Programs

Special training arrangements may be put in place during school holidays.

The coach will notify parents and swimmers of any special training programs and relevant training fee arrangements at the beginning of each school holiday period.

To ensure each individual has a training schedule suitable for his or her specific needs, it is recommended that swimmers and their parents discuss their requirements with the coach.
