Welcome to the POD
Welcome to Nightcliff Swimming Club!
We’re so happy to have you here! Whether you’ve just completed your swim assessment or you’re considering joining, this page will guide you through everything you need to get started.
Haven’t Had a Swim Assessment Yet?
If you haven’t had a swim assessment yet, no worries! Simply email membership@nightcliffswimmingclub.com.au to book a time with our head coach, Jane Davies.
Here’s what happens next once you’re ready to join:
Step 1: Register as a Member
The first step is to register as a member through Swim Central. If you have never done this before, this step-by-step guide will help make the process really easy.
➡ How to Register with Swim Central
Nightcliff Swimming Club outlines its fee structure as follows:
Registration Fees (Annual):
Swimmers aged 9 and above: $230
Swimmers aged 8 and under: $130
Parent/Guardian: $25 (mandatory for all swimmers under 18, as per Swimming NT requirements)
The registration period spans from July 1 to June 30 each year, with fees due on July 1. Due to fixed insurance costs, pro-rata rates are not available. Please note that NT school sports vouchers cannot be applied toward registration fees.
And if you’re keen to jump in yourself, you are more than welcome. Please feel free to register yourself as we also have a NSC Masters squad for adult swimmers! Just search for Nightcliff Masters Swimming Club when registering.
Step 2: Check the Squad Timetable
Once your membership is set up, you can check our squad training times here:
➡ For more information about squad training, please go here.
Step 3: Pay Coaching Fees
Jane’s coaching fees are separate from registration and are payable directly to Coach Jane via direct deposit at the start of each school term. Any outstanding fees beyond the end of Week 2, may result in suspension from training unless prior arrangements are made. Sports vouchers are accepted for coaching fees.
Coaching Fees (Per Term)
Mini Squad: $100
Bronze Squad: $130
Silver Squad: $160
Gold Squad: $180
Masters Swimmers: $20 per Sunday session
Pool Entry Fees (Per Session)
Pool entry is not included in registration or coaching fees and must be paid upon arrival for each training session. As of July 1, 2024, the rates are:
Single Entry: $3.00 per child
30-Swim Card: $55.00 per child (approximately $1.84 per entry)
6-Month Pass: $165 per child (approximately $1.58 per entry, assuming four sessions per week)
12-Month Pass: $305 per child (approximately $1.47 per entry, assuming four sessions per week)

Step 4: Get Your Swim Gear
Each squad has specific equipment requirements, so we’ve put together a list of what you’ll need, including recommended brands. New members are encouraged to acquire these items, as they are durable and essential for training.
Recommended brands include Speedo, Zoggs, Amanzi, Funkita, Engine, and DMC, with items available online or in retailers like Rebel Sport. Each new member receives a complimentary Nightcliff Swimming Club cap for competitions; for training, any comfortable cap is acceptable. Goggles should be selected based on individual fit, with Speedo Opal Mirrored and Amanzi models being popular choices.
To find out the list of equipment you need for your squad, please go here.
If you’re waiting for your gear to arrive, don’t worry—we have spare equipment at the clubhouse that you can borrow in the meantime.
Step 5: Join Our Private Facebook Group
Due to the nature of swimming in the top end, please join us in the Dolphins private Facebook group to stay updated with any last-minute training changes, club news, and events.
When requesting to join, please answer the question about which email you used for Swim Central so we can approve your request quickly and your request is not denied.
Step 6: Get Your Club Uniform
Our club colours are gold, black, and white, and we love seeing our swimmers represent Nightcliff with pride! If you're competing at a swim meet, you’ll need to wear our club uniform, which includes a polo shirt and shorts. A club swim cap is also a must when racing in the water.
Bonus: All swimming members receive a free NSC swim cap! Jane will hand yours to you at training once you’re all set up.
