Each swim squad requires its own list of equipment, getting more and more involved as you work your way up the squad ladder. While the list can be daunting to new members, take solace that once you buy the equipment, it usually lasts a very long time.

Recommended Brands
While we do not share any partnerships with any of the brands we are recommending, we find that our swimmers most enjoy:
Water Bottle
Anything self-insulating like a Yeti!
Towel
Whatever dries! Hooded towels are recommended during the Dry Season though
Mesh Swim Bag
Speedo mesh bags can be purchased from Rebel Sport, or if you want to stand out, Amanzi and Funkita have a brilliant range of mesh bags in bright colours to suit all personal styles, and not get yours mixed up with others on the side of the pool
Kickboard
Speedo and Zoggs kickboards from Rebel Sport are quick and easy, but for a statement board, you have to give it to Amanzi and Funkita. Engine is also an option if you want quality without the fuss.
(Short) Swimming Fins
As a Mini Squad swimmer, you can wear any swim fins you like, with a lot of our squad opting for whatever fits from Rebel Sport, however, from Bronze Squad and above, there is only 1 brand we recommend when it comes to short swim fins, and that’s DMC.
The Elite Max is what a lot of our swimmers love to use, so if you need a pair and want to try on sizing before you buy, be sure to let our coaches know, and we’ll be more than happy for you to try on what we have available at the time.
Swimming Cap
Every new membership comes with a free Nightcliff Swimming Club swimming cap which is to be worn during swim meets. For training, anything goes, but most still tend to opt towards their club caps so when it comes to race day, it is comfortable and what they are used to.
Goggles
Many wear the Speedo Opal Mirrored range which can be picked up from Rebel Sport, and Amanzi also have a great range available, but goggles can be a very particular item depending on your unique face shape. I would start with the brands mentioned here, and work your way out if they don’t suit.
However, picking up a packet of Goggle Bungee Cords from Amanzi can help when any brand of goggle cord snaps for a quick fix.
Pull Bouy
Our usual suspects are Speedo from Rebel Sport, and Amanzi and Funkita bringing in the colour.
Paddles
Now we start getting technical. Engine has fantastic paddles that swimmers like to use, with Amanzi also recently bringing out their own paddle design. You’re looking for something that is the size of the hand, with a good adjustable grip around the fingers and wrist.
Centre-Aligned Snorkle
Finis and Engine have the best snorkles, but Zoggs from Rebel Sport could get you through.
Nose Clips
Just like with Goggles, Nose Clips are personal, and you might have to try a few to find one that sits right. Zoggs is usually sold at the pool kiosk, so if you need them in a hurry, you can try them there. Alternatively, Rebel Sport sell the Speedo Universal Nose Clip, and Finis sell one as well.
